Are you using Community Mental Health Services in Hampshire?
Employment is an achievable goal for people with mental health issues.
Paid employment can help make you financially better off compared to receiving benefits alone.
With sustained, positive and proactive support, barriers to employment are removed.
The Hampshire IPS Employment Service is for people using mental health or social care services, who want to find paid employment.
What We Offer You
We will support you as much as you need, every step of the way.
On Referral
Your Employment Specialist (ES) will contact you and arrange to meet you
- Together, we will explore your options and create your action plan.
Job Searching
- Search with you only for the sort of work you want
- Provide support and guidance on how and where to look
- Help with writing effective CVs, cover letters and applications
- Actively contact and develop relationships with employers
- Provide employment related benefits advice is available – check how employment may affect your benefits.
On Job Application, we will:
Help you to get you through interviews
- Attend meetings and interviews as agreed
- Offer confidential advice on how to disclose health matters – when and how best to do it
- Help you identify and request reasonable adjustments from your employer.
Post Employment Start Date, we will:
Support you when starting a job
- Regularly contact you after your job start to help you sort out any problems, for as long as you need it
- Support you with your new employer – as requested by and agreed with you.
Retention
If you are already in employment but signed off due to mental health issues, we can:
- Work with you to agree reasonable adjustments with your employer to support your return to work.
- Support you to find alternatives to your existing employment where a return to your existing work is not your favoured option.
How Do I Access the Service?
Speak with your mental health clinician or key worker.
This could be your Care Coordinator, CPN, Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapist, Support
Worker or Mental Health Social Worker.
Ask for a referral to the IPS Employment service.
They need to complete a referral from and return it to the
Waythrough Hampshire IPS service – see contact details below.
We cannot accept referrals if you want ONLY voluntary work, education and training.
